Raymond George " R. G. " Goodfellow, Jr. died on October 8, 2013 at 5:30 PM in Memphis, Tennessee.

He was born on December 27, 1934 in Memphis, Tennessee to Raymond Goodfellow Sr. and Alice McMahon Goodfellow.

Mr. Goodfellow was a U. S. Army Veteran and a communicant of St. Michael's Catholic Church. He was a graduate of Arkansas State University and earned two master degrees from the University of Memphis. He served as the principal of St. Michael's Catholic School for four years. He volunteered as Scout Master and earned a Lifetime Achievement Award and a place in the Boy Scouts Hall of Fame, who honored him in 2012. During his tenure in the Boy Scouts he trained over 450 Scout Masters. He was known as "The Book Man" at the Memphis Flea Market. Some of his proudest achievements were taking thirty-day hiking trips to Seattle, New Mexico and Yellowstone and Making Hundreds and Hundreds parachute jumps in his lifetime.
He leaves behind seven siblings, Peter Goodfellow of West Memphis, Rita Fiduccia of Collierville, Artie Brown of Germantown, Fredrick Goodfellow of Marion, Mary Golightly of Somerville, Teresa Cyr of Beauford, SC; and Alberta "Bert" Marable of Memphis and over 29 nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Mass at 10:00 AM. Interment services will be on Monday October 14, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in Birdeye, Arkansas.
Memorial May be made to Friends of Scouting Twin Banks District C/O Chickasaw Council Boy Scouts of America, 171 S. Hollywood St. Memphis, TN 38112
