Murray O. Mathews of Vanndale passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at his home.
Murray was born in Los Angeles, California on July 21, 1932 to the late Murray Marion Mathews and Ercell Ellis Willy Mathews. Murray was a contractor, loved to fish, and lived life to its fullest. He loved to drive race cars and motorcycles. He sold his vegetables at the Farmer's Market at the court house in Wynne and remembered who bought what.
Survivors are, wife, Phyllis Mashburn of Cherry Valley; sons, Fredrick Mathews of Newhall, CA; Matthew Foley of Kansas; daughters, Melanie Powell of Sand Diego, CA; Shellie Mathews of Alaska; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, December 20, 2015 at Mr. Murray Mathews home at 2 PM. A burial will be held at a later time at the Arkansas Veterans Cemetery at Birdeye, Arkansas.
