Paul Kay Simpson, age 92, of Inverness, FL died on February 29, 2016 surrounded by his loving family and while under the care of HPH Hospice, Lecanto. Paul was born on February 25, 1924 in Monette, Arkansas to the late Edgar and Willie Hartsell Simpson. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy and was a Veteran of World War II in the Pacific, and the Korean War. Paul was a longtime member of the the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, and the Elks. He was a carpenter by trade. He is remembered as a wonderful loving man, an awesome father and a free spirit. Those left to mourn his passing and cherish his memory are two daughters, Paula Kay Simpson of Inverness, FL and Betty Kay Barroso of Houston, TX; his son, John Simpson of Houston, TX; his son, Mark Simpson and his wife Brenda of Ocala, FL; one sister, Suda of Monette, AR. He will be greatly missed by his granddaughters, Kendra Kay Marolf and Krysta Jaye Marolf, who were by his side with their mother Paula upon his passing. His great granddaughter, Raina Jaye Vincelli will miss her PaPa as well. He also leaves behind grandsons, Ian, Sean and Ryan, Precious granddaughter, Jody Fiore, her husband James, son Austin and daughter, Teyiah. Paul is also survived by his former wife, Marian E. Simpson. While she and Paul were divorced, they continued to reside in the same home, under the caregiving of Pauls daughter, Paula Simpson. He was preceded in death by his two first lovely wives, Imogene and his second wife, Lavelma. Paul chose to go home to his beloved Arkansas where his only surviving sibling, Suda Simpson Reeves, her daughter, Sue and her husband Martin still reside. He was laid to rest at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, Birdeye, Arkansas, on March 11, 2016. The Charles E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL, assisted the family with private cremation arrangements.
