Carthel L. Hankins, 81, of Forrest City, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2013 in Wynne, Arkansas. He was born July 31, 1932 to Verner Hankins and Dorothy Roderick Hankins in Tilton, Arkansas.
He is survived by one daughter, Barbara French, of Forrest City, Arkansas; one grandchild, James French, one great- grandchild, Lauren French, and two sisters, Patsy Rhodes, of Wynne, Arkansas and Sherri (Wayne) Catillar, of Cadwell, Arkansas and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Frank French, two brothers, Ivan Hankins, and Norman Hankins, and one sister Mary Crim.
Mr. Hankins was in the United States Army and Navy. Where he earned four bronze stars from the Korean War.
Services for Carthel Hankins will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 22, 2013 at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, Birdeye, Arkansas.
Services will be directed by Roller – Citizens Funeral Home, Marianna, (870) 295- 2528.
