Mr. Sidney Lewis Meeks, age 73, of Caldwell, died Saturday at the St. Bernard's Hospital in Jonesboro. He had been in poor health for the past several years.
Mr. Meeks was born December 15, 1941, in Colt, and was the son of James Sidney Meeks and Frances Taylor Meeks. He lived in St. Francis County most all of his life, was retired from Yale Hoist, and was a Veteran of the Army.
Mr. Meeks married Sue Midkiff in 1988, and she survives him along with one son, Bryan Meeks of Dallas, Texas, one daughter, Jana Covington of Searcy, one step-son, Todd Pennington of Searcy, one step-daughter, Amy Martinez of West Virginia, three brothers; George Meek of Palestine, Jim Meeks of Kansas, and Kenny Meeks of Searcy, one sister, Patty Fryer of Memphis, Tennessee, and six grandchildren. He had one sister, Ann Parsley, who preceded him in death.
A memorial service will be held Friday, 2:00 P.M., at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in Birdeye.
