Joy Cleon White, 80, of Wynne, Arkansas, passed away Friday, August 8, 2014, in Memphis, Tenn.
Mr. White was born March 2, 1934 ,in Hickory Ridge, Arkansas. He lived in Dekalb, Illinois and while in the army for 2 years, he lived in Ft. Lee, Virginia and Ft. Polk, Louisiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester White and Celia Lumley White; brother, Alvin White and sister, Erline Taylor.
Joy retired from Yale Manufacturing in Forrest City, Arkansas and was a member of Union Avenue Baptist Church.
Survivors are his wife, Frances Jennings White of the home; sons, Richard White of Greenwood, Arkansas; Tim White of Springfield, Missouri; David White of Wynne; daughter, Janet Sherman of Wynne; brothers, Robert White and Wallace Vance of Wynne; 11 grandchildren and 5 great grand-children.
Arrangements were by: Kernodle Funeral Home. Funeral services were at Union Avenue Baptist Church with burial in the Arkansas Veteran’s Cemetery at Birdeye, Arkansas.
