Rev. Dan Minton, of Wynne, Arkansas, departed this life on Monday, September 2, 2013 at his home at the age of 76.

Dan was a graduate of Vanndale High School, served in the Navy aboard the USS Holder 819, was an Automotive Parts Manager for Wynne and Forrest City for a number of years, went into the ministry and soon was known as "Bro. Dan". He served the following churches as pastor, Sneed Street Baptist, Marked Tree; Second Baptist, Forrest City; Cherry Valley Baptist Church, Cherry Valley; and Newark Baptist Church, Newark; and three churches on two different occasions, Harris Chapel Baptist Church, Wynne; Immanuel Baptist, Paragould; and Fifth Street Baptist, Iuka, Mississippi. He served on local committees and state committees in the Southern Baptist Convention. He attended Boyce Bible College, a division of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and was a member of Wynne Baptist Church, Wynne, Arkansas.

Bro. Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Rev & Mrs. G. E. Minton, Sr. three brothers, Pete Minton, Jr., John V. Minton, Sr., and Richard L. Minton; his sister, Rena Butler and daughter, Jennifer.

Bro. Minton is survived by his wife of 56 years, Shirley Edge Minton; Ricky Dan Minton, Springfield, Mo; Zachary Minton, wife Nichole and son Isaac, Harrisburg, AR; Richard Minton, wife Krystal and children Kaeden, Kaeleb, Kaeleigh Belle, Rucker Air Force Base, AL; and Danielle Walker, husband Zach and daughters, Adriana and Zoey, Wynne, Arkansas. Two sisters survive, Bettye Brown of Liberty, TX; Donna Evans and husband Bruce of Bradenton, FL, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many, many friends.

Funeral services were held at Kernodle Funeral Home in Wynne with burial in Arkansas Veterans Cemetery at Birdeye, Arkansas.
