Homer Eugene Griffin, of Harrisburg, Arkansas, departed this life Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at the VA Medical Center in Memphis, Tenn., at the age of 59.

He was born April 3, 1955, at Marked Tree, Arkansas, the son of Homer P. "Jack" Griffin and Ethel Hayes Griffin.

He was preceded in death by his father and three brothers.

Homer was an Air Force veteran, having served in the Vietnam War. He was an aircraft welder while serving in the military. He was also a truck driver for many years and worked for U-haul for 16 years. He was a member and supporter of the NRA and loved music, animals and fishing.

He married Teresa Miller on Feb. 20, 2004, and they enjoyed 10 years together.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa of the home; his mother, Ethel Farris and her husband Carl of Harrisburg; two daughters, Michelle Schnicke (Chuck) of Kentwood, Mich., and Tina Pigeon of Michigan; two sons, Bryan Griffin (Laura) and Adam Griffin (Stephanie), all of Jacksonville, Fla.; two stepchildren, Melissa Sisson (Harold) of Hamilton, Mich., and Joshua Miller of Zeeland, Mich.; a sister, Terri Vodry (John) of Quilcele, Wash.; a stepbrother, Phillip Farris (Kathy) of Hamilton, Ind.; a stepsister, Elizabeth Ann Farris of Sims, Ill.; a sister-in-law, Ruth Blanton (Chris) of Holland, Mich.; two brothers-in-law, William Miller (Sandy) of Kansas and Calvin Miller (Tammy) of Las Vegas; and 15 grand-children.

Funeral services were in the Gregg-Weston Funeral Home Chapel at Harrisburg. Interment was in the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery at Birdeye with full military honors.
