Mr. Deward Iving Sutton Jr., age 83, of Forrest City, died Tuesday at the Healthsouth Rehabilitation Hospital in Memphis. He had been in the hospital for the past three weeks.

Mr. Sutton was born April 16, 1931, in St. Francis County, and was the son of Deward Sutton Sr. and Annie Lee Roberts Sutton. He lived in St. Francis County all of his life, was a shipping clerk for Forrest City Grocery, was a Veteran of the National Guard, and was a Presbyterian.

Mr. Sutton married Linda Gail Devazier in 1956, and she survives him along with one son, Ronald Sutton of Forrest City, three daughters; Pamela Marie Hoots and Sandra Heard, both of Forrest City, and Melissa Ann Bryant of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, one brother, George Sutton of Forrest City, one sister, Dorothy Grantham of Hot Springs, ten grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Services for Mr. Sutton will be held at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 10:00 A.M., Friday with burial in the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in Birdeye. Visitation will be Thursday evening, 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. At Stevens Funeral Home with Stevens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
