April 17, 1941 - August 28, 2013
Portia- Leon Lawson, 72 passed from this life Wednesday at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. He was born April 17, 1941 in the Little Brown Community to Earlie Lee and Esther Juanita Keith Lawson. He was a lifetime resident of Lawrence County and worked at Delta Steel and B & R Machine Shop as a welder. He was of the Pentecostal belief.
He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Cindy Lawson.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann Lawson of the home; daughter, Shelia Taylor and husband Buddy of Fontaine; son, Kevin Lawson of Powhatan; sisters, Tish Worlow and husband Glenn of Sedgwick, Joan Arnold of Jonesboro, Sue Lawson of Cleveland, Tennessee and Cathie Moody and husband Danny of Baton Rouge, Louisana; 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Funeral Service is 1:00 p.m., Friday at House-Gregg Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge with Rick Hart officiating. Burial will follow in Old Military Cemetery in Sedgwick.
Visitation will be from 11:00 – 1:00 p.m. prior to service.
Pallbearers: Buddy Taylor, Taylor Lawson, Jeremy Buck, Gynn Arnold, Mitch Worlow and Randy Worlow.

Ruth Ann Lawson, 77, died November 25, 2022 at Flo and Phil Hospice House in Jonesboro. She was a resident of Craighead Nursing Center but had lived in Bono and Fontaine area her entire life. She was born in Fontaine, Arkansas on May 17, 1945 to James and Marie Hefner. She was married to Leon Lawson. Ruth Ann was a homemaker. She loved her family especially her grandchildren.
Preceding her in death is her husband, Leon; her parents, James and Marie Hefner; and her daughter: Cindy Lawson.
Left to mourn her passing are her son Kevin Lawson of Powhatan; daughter, Shelia Taylor of Sedgwick; two granddaughters, Whitney (Jeremy) Buck of Rector and Tabitha Taylor of Sedgwick; two grandsons, Taylor Lawson of Walnut Ridge and Cody Taylor of Forrest City; and four great grandchildren: Aubrie, Ainsley, Adalynn, and Ruthie.
Services will be held in the House Gregg Funeral Chapel with Tom Lamb officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11 and with the funeral service beginning at 11 am. Burial will be in Old Military Cemetery in Sedgwick.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Taylor Lawson, Cody Taylor, Jeremy Buck, Jett Waddell, Ernie Nelson, and Ray Nelson.
