WALNUT RIDGE -- Thelma Buchanan Lamb, 88, of Walnut Ridge died Thursday, Sept. 15, at Walnut Ridge Nursing and Rehab Center.

She lived in the Lawrence County area nearly all her life. She was a homemaker and retired presser for Lawrence Manufacturing dress factory. She was a member of Oak Hill General Baptist Church of Walnut Ridge.

Survivors include her husband, Walter J. Lamb of the home; a son, Lloyd Lamb of Jonesboro; three daughters, Janet Nichols of Vilonia, Joan Bradley of Hoxie and Beckie Wilcockson of Corinth, Texas; two sisters, Arbell Marshall of Pekin, Ill., and Elsie Morris of Rockford, Ill.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, A.D. and Cora Buchanan; and two brothers, Yancy and E.P. Buchanan.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Old Military Cemetery in Sedgwick with Marion Stringer and Royce Schanda officiating. House-Gregg Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be from noon-1:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Old Military Cemetery at Sedgwick.

HOXIE -- Walter J. Lamb, 94, of Hoxie died Thursday at NEA Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was a farmer and retired from B.B. Vance & Sons. Born in Weewokia, Okla., he had lived in Lawrence County most of his life.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Buchanan Lamb; brothers, Leon and Armon Lamb; and sisters, Ruby Rainwater, Dover Kisling, Ava Rice, Louise Wright and Artie Manning.

He is survived by a son, Lloyd Lamb of Jonesboro; daughters, Janet Nichols and Joan Bradley, both of Hoxie, and Becky Willcockson of Corinth, Texas; and a sister, Estelle Covey of Jonesboro.

Graveside funeral services will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Old Military Cemetery at Sedgwick. Officiating ministers will be Marion Stringer and Royce Schanda.

Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Saturday at House-Gregg Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge. Grandsons and close friends will serve as pallbearers.
