BENTONVILLE - Calvin Dillow Sr., 77, of Bentonville died June 12, 2006. He is born March 25, 1929, in Bella Vista to John H. and Maude Pruitt Dillow. He served in the Army in Panama from 1945-1949 and in Korea from 1950-1951. He owned and operated service stations with Cities Service Oil Co. in Miami, Fla., from 1952-1964, at which time he relocated to Bella Vista. He worked for the Bentonville Police Department and served as chief of police from 1966-1969. He worked for Ollie Prince Automotive until retiring to his farm in Bella Vista. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and was a 32nd-degree Mason, Scottish Rite and Mahi Shriner.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Euteva; one son, Calvin Jr. and wife Mary; one grandson, Vance; one granddaughter, Jolynda Cooper and husband Gary; four great-granddaughters; four brothers, Rea of Tennessee, Lewis, Jack and Ted, all of Kansas.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Miller Community Cemetery in Bella Vista with Guy Parker officiating.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Bentonville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Miller Community Church, c/o the funeral home.
