Harvey Evers, 55, of 614 S. West Ave., died instantly Monday afternoon in a grinding auto crash near Port Allen, La. Mr. Evers was a veteran of World War II, a native of Union County and a member of the Steamfitters and Pipefitters Local of Tucson, Ariz. He was born Sept. 3, 1910 in Union County and was the son of Thomas J. and Minnie C. Langford Evers. His survivors include his widow, Mrs. Juanita Wright Evers of El Dorado; two sons, John Thomas Evers and Ricky Evers, both of El Dorado; a daughter, Miss Camellia Ann Evers, also of El Dorado; four brothers, Claude Evers of Camden, Ralph Evers of Calion, Alymer Evers and Barney Evers, both of Norphlet; and three sisters, Mrs. W. G. Barrett of Tucson, Mrs. Clyde Copeland of El Dorado and Mrs. Fred Howey of Hot Springs. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Rumph Mortuary with the Rev. E. J. Lambert officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Rumph. Pallbearers were Harvey Wright, Dick Sutherlin, Wallace Murphy, Ross Martin, Reynard Mason and Roy Harrell.
