Rubin Andrew Barr, 71, of 600 Petroleum St., died suddenly Saturday in a local hospital. Born April 19, 1896 in Prescott, he was a retired rig builder. He was a Baptist, a resident of the area since 1920, a veteran of World War I and a member of Masonic Lodge No. 13. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Dixie Stevens Barr of El Dorado; two sons, J. C. Barr of North Little Rock and Roger Allen Barr of Mesquite, Tex.; three daughters, Mrs. Mary E. Spencer and Mrs. Roy C. Fish, both of Junction City and Mrs. Billy Joyce Garner of Nashville, Tenn.; a brother, James E. Barr of Coushatta, La. and 21 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Rumph Mortuary Chapel at 2 p.m. Monday with the Rev. William Logan and Dr. Leo Garner officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Rumph Mortuary. El Dorado Masonic Lodge No. 13 will perform Masonic graveside rites. Pallbearers will be Paul Butler, J. W. Romine, Morgan Hogg, Parul Garner, H. E. Frisby and Leo McGriff. (El Dorado Times - December 18, 1967)
