Charles Bartley "Butch" FINDLEY

Beaver Cemetery
Carroll County,
Arkansas

Feb 23, 1955 - Dec 28, 2011

Charles Bartley Findley, a resident of Beaver, Ark., was born February 23, 1955 in Branson, Mo., a son of Tom and Helen Findley. He departed this life December 28, 2011, in his home at the age of 56.

Charles was a registered nurse at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers, Ark., specializing in pediatrics, nursery, and neonatal intensive care. Nursing was Charles' second career, having spent 22 years as an industrial engineer working with Tredegar Industries. His background in engineering was a valuable resource to Mercy, and he helped implement the EPIC electronic medical record used throughout the Mercy network.

Charles loved his career in nursing and viewed it as his ministry. He worked throughout his five year struggle with cancer, and continued to work as a volunteer nurse after his tracheostomy this August.

On June 16, 1977, Charles was united in marriage with Suzanne Hill of Eureka Springs, who survives him. He is also survived by his daughter, Rebecca Erin Fortune of Ellettsville, Ind., and his son, Michael Ian Findley, of Lowell, Ark.; his sister, Mary Findley Shores and brother, Tommy Findley of Stuttgart, Ark.; and his sister, Sharon Findley Harper, of Vancleave, Miss. He had two grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and was loved by a host of family and friends.

He was a member of Eureka Springs First United Methodist Church.
