When Martha J Carlock was born on October 2, 1888, in Rose Creek, Arkansas, her father, Joseph, was 22, and her mother, Francis, was 16. She married Alfred R Carlock on March 1, 1906. They had eight children during their marriage. She died on October 22, 1975, in Brinkley, Arkansas, at the age of 87, and was buried in Oppelo, Arkansas.
