CAVE CITY ˜ Austin A. Rowlett, 82, of Cave City died Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at his home.

Born Nov. 3, 1929, at Swifton, he was the son of August and Leona Tucker Rowlett. He retired from GenCorp Automotive in Batesville and had worked for General Motors Truck and Coach in Pontiac, Mich. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of Curia Creek Masonic Lodge in Cave City and First Free Will Baptist Church in Cave City.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Josie Ann Rowlett; a son, David Rowlett of Cave City; two brothers, Rayburn Rowlett of Washington and Homer Rowlett of Kentucky; four grandchildren, Andre Rowlett and Erin Witty, both of Fort Collins, Colo., Dion Rowlett of Jonesboro and Brandi Parker of Lynn; six great-grandchildren, Emma Witty, Carter Witty, Josh Witty, Benjamin Witty, Hanna Parker and Haley Parker; and several nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Bruce Anthony Rowlett; two brothers, Neal Rowlett and Donald Rowlett; and a sister, Carmelita Rowlett.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Free Will Baptist Church in Cave City with Jeff Holland and Bill Sagely officiating. Burial will be in Mount View Cemetery, located east of Cave City, under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.

Pallbearers will be Kirk Wagoner, Kenneth Wagoner, Jeff Morris, Richard Parker, Ronald Weaver, Bobby Rowlett, Jimmy Rowlett and Terry Bradley.

Honorary pallbearers are the members of Curia Creek Masonic Lodge.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church.
