Ivie Jean Martindale, 85, of El Dorado, passed away Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at Medical Center of South Arkansas. She was born May 14, 1928, to Grady and Elsie Bell.

Ivie Jean was known as Momma Jean and Nana. She loved sharing her knowledge with the students at Lynndales Beauty School, and being outdoors. One of her favorite sayings was, "I have a new job when I retire. It's doing nothing, and it's never finished."

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Mitchell Evans; second husband, James Martindale, and two sisters, Maxine and Peggy.

Survivors include sons, Jerry "Skipper" Debo (Doris), of Grand Prairie, Jimmy Evans (Gail), of Bartlett, TN; daughters, Jacquita "JQ" Evans Hayden, of El Dorado, and Ann Evans Sparks, of Allen, TX; nine grandchildren, Yvette, Yvonne, Wilhem, Mitchell, Michelle, Charles, Vance, Dionne, and Letitia; 15 great-grandchildren, Cassie, Austin, Henry, Taylor, Ryan, Ashlynn, Timothy, Trevor, Emily, Charles Jr., Christopher, Sienna, Canon, Alex, and Vince; and one great-great-grandson, Jacobe.

Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. today at Perry's Funeral Chapels with funeral services to start at 2 p.m., with Charlotte Smith officiating, and burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Perry's Funeral Chapels.
