November 18, 1871 - June 6, 1967
Mrs. Cora Hearon Pye, 94, of 525 E. Third St., died Tuesday night in a local hospital after a lengthy illness. Born Nov. 18, 1870 in Falcon, she was the daughter of Sarah and Robert Hearon. Mrs. Pye had been a resident of Union County for the past 70 years. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of El Dorado. Survivors include a son, Edward H. Pye of Houston, Tex.; a daughter, Mrs. P. C. Taylor of El Dorado; a sister Miss Bessie Hearon of El Dorado, and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the First Methodist Chapel with Dr. Alvin Murray officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Young's. Pallbearers will be Jack Barry, Joe Wilson, Charles Hamilton, Harvey Yarbrough, Eugene Peek, Leon McKinney, Shannon Goodwin, and John Yocum. (El Dorado Daily News - June 8, 1967)
