Ralph Worrell Beauchamp was born August 18, 1917 in Marianna, Arkansas and died at his home on Monday, December 8, 2008 at age 91. Ralph was a lifetime member of Marianna First United Methodist Church and a Mason. He was a retired volunteer Firefighter and retired Manager of Lee County Water Association, Inc.
After he finished high school, Ralph went to college for three years, but in January of 1941 he enlisted in the Coast Artillery, Arkansas Army National Guard, and along with many other men from the Lee County area, he participated in the Aleutian Campaign later that year. After the U.S. entered the war in December of 1941, he was reassigned to the Army Air Corps, where he served our the remainder of his war-time tour. He was honorably discharged in September of 1945.
Ralph was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie Marie McLaughlin Beauchamp, his parents Herbert Nicholas and Nellie Dee Latta Beauchamp, brother Herbert Higgins Beauchamp, and sister Pauline Beauchamp Stratton. Loved ones surviving him are son Jack Thomas Beauchamp and wife Pamela, and daughter Sandy Beauchamp of Marianna, grandchildren Nicholas Eatmon Beauchamp, Thomas McLaughlin Beauchamp, Sarahjane Tollett Beauchamp, Jack Woodrow Harden III, and Amy Scarlett Harden Perry, as well as four great-grandchildren.
