Thomas William Culver, 87, of Ozark, Arkansas passed away in his home Sunday, October 15, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was born July 28, 1930 in Etna, Arkansas to the late Comer and Minnie Lee Culver.
He was a retired Well Attendant for Arkla Gas Company and a veteran of the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty seven years, Betty Williams Culver; three brothers, J W Culver, Harold Culver, and Eugene “Sweeney” Culver by only ten hours.
Thomas is survived by a son, Tim Culver and wife Lynn of Ozark; a brother, Johnny Culver of Caulksville, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Casey Culver and wife Sarah; and Lindsey Baskin and husband Blake all of Ozark; a great grandson, Ryder Allen Baskin; and several nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
He was a graduate of Ratcliff High School, an avid hunter and well known for raising and training bird dogs. Tom loved sports as well, seldom missing football and basketball games at Ozark High School in his younger years, and always following the Razorbacks.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jim Mattson, Don Farris, Matt Coleman, Lindsey Baskin, and Jarrod Burns officiating and burial at Highland Cemetery under direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
Serving as pallbearers are Ricky Foster, Bobby Morris, Chris Mayner, Don Farris, Casey Culver, and Blake Baskin; and numerous honorary pallbearers.
