October 3, 1847 - January 12, 1919

C. W. Hearin, circuit and ex officio county clerk of Union County, was born in this county, in 1847, and attended the common schools of the county until, 1863, after which he entered the Confederate service, and was in active duty until the close of the war. In 1866 he engaged as clerk and book-keeper for various firms of Hillsboro, and continued this employment, and farming on a small scale, until his election to his present office in 1888. Mr. Hearin is a cautious and accurate official, and a worthy, courteous and pleasant gentleman.
