Rudy A. Erwin, 57, of 2317 Houston St., died Saturday afternoon. He was born in Imboden, Ark., on Dec. 27, 1910, the son of Gertrude Forrest and P. P. Erwin. He was a retired salesman and had been living in El Dorado since 1921. A veteran of World War II, he was a member of the American Legion Post No. 10 and a member of the First United Methodist Church of El Dorado. He is survived by his widow, Alma Hottle Erwin of El Dorado; one sister, Mrs. Conlyn Miles of El Dorado; and three aunts with whom he lived from the age of two, Mrs. Clifford Adams and Mrs. S. D. McWilliams, both of San Luis Obispo, Calif., and Mrs. Fred Reames of El Dorado; and three foster children, Merrye Dee, Michael and David Dwyer, all of El Dorado. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the chapel of the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Alvin Murray and the Rev. Jack Wilson officiating. There was a flag presentation ceremony at the graveside. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Young's . Pallbearers were Clark Norman, C. W. Stinson, J. B. Cameron, Jack Leoffler, Joe Wepfer, Felton Jackson, Charlie Skinner and Kelly McWilliams. (El Dorado Times - November 4, 1968)
