January 19, 1896 - December 13, 1966
Funeral rites for Lee Burleson, aged 70, well known Bearden man, who died suddenly late Tuesday afternoon, were held Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. with burial in Red Hill cemetery near Chidester. Mr. Burleson was postmaster at Bearden for many years and was a native of Chidester. he was a member of the Official Board of the First Methodist Church at Bearden and treasurer of the church. Mr. Burleson also was active in the National Association of Postmasters and had an office in the association. Nellie Murphy of Calion and Postmaster Ritchie Morgan of Camden, headed the committee that planned and staged the postal seminars and meetings held here and in this district for many years.
