Lovic Richard JACKSON, 57, of Bearden was killed instantly at 4:10 p.m. Monday
near Houston, Texas, where he had been working for the past 30 days as a
carpenter. He formerly worked at NAD. Mr. Jackson had finished work Monday and
was on his way to the home of a brother in Tomball, Texas, north of Houston,
when his car collided with a large truck. Mr. Jackson was born January 16, 1900
in Kentucky, the son of R.E. and Sally Farabrough Jackson. He moved to Ouachita
County about 39 years ago. He was a member of the Bearden Methodist Church. He
is survived by his wife Mrs. Frances Vaughan Jackson; two sons Billy Jackson of
the home and Eugene Jackson of Lackland Air Force Base, Texas; two daughters
LaNelle and Mary Jackson, both of the home; mother Mrs. R.E. Jackson of Camden;
two brothers Homer Jackson of Camden and Verne Jackson of Tomball, Texas; six
sisters Mrs. M.Q. Province of Chattanooga, Tenn., Mrs. W.P. Keister of
Louisville, Kentucky, Mrs. M.T. Pate, Mrs. R.B. Thornton and Mrs W.P. Smead, all
of Camden and Miss Birdie Jackson of Memphis. Funeral services will be held at
2:30 p.m. Thursday at Proctorís Chapel by Rev. R.M. Roach of Bearden. Burial
will be at Salem Cemetery near Bearden.
