DECLARATION OF INTENT OF MAURICE ANTHAMATTEN

I, Maurice Anthamatten, aged 56 years, occupation Farming, do declare on oath that my personal description is: Color-White; complexion-Fair; height 5 feet 9 inches; weight 145 pounds, color of hair-Gray; color of eyes - Blue; other visible distinctive marks-none. I was born in Sion, Switzerland, on the 7th day of March, anno Domini 1861; I now reside at Conway, Arkansas. I emigrated to the United States of America from Switzerland on the vessel - Labrador; my last foreign residence was Sion, Switzerland. It is my bona fide intention to renounce forever the allegiance and fidelity to President of Switzerland of which I am now a citizen; I arrived at the port of New York in the state of New York on or about the 1st day of January anno Domini 1883; I am not an anarchist; I am not a polygamist, nor a believer in the practice of polygamy; and it is my intention in good faith to become a citizen of the United States of America and to permanently reside therein. SO HELP ME GOD. Signature of Maurice Anthamatten, Subscribed and sworn to before me this 15th day of March, anno Domini 1918. A M Ledbetter, Clerk of the Circuit Court.

Maurice Anthamatten and his wife, Louise, had eleven children, all born in Arkansas: Eugenia, Marice Adolph, Ermine, Ernest, Mary, Anna, Leo, Georgius Carolus "Charlie", Rose, Lillian, and Louise. A new monument has been placed for two of their children: Ernest (1890-1894) and Mary (1892-1892).
