Traveling in the steerage with the Zermatten family was the Jean Baptiste Moix and Joseph Dayer families. John Baptiste Zermatten, age 40, and his wife, Catherine, age 38, and their seven children left the Port of La Havre, France. Their final destination was Conway, Arkansas. Their children in 1895 were Daniel l(15), Melanie (12), Antoinette (8), Maurice (7), Martin (5), and Joseph, less than a year old.
