Mahina Waikalani Powell, 22, of Arkansas City, AR passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2012 in Desha County.

Mahina was born June 11, 1990 in Ebey, Marshall Islands.

She was an Honor graduate of McGehee High School in 2008.

Mahina was presently attending UAM School of Technology, Nursing Program in McGehee. She currently worked for the Arkansas Post of the United States National Park Service. Mahina was a friendly, outgoing person who loved the outdoors and loved her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her biological father Laki Kanahele.

Mahina is survived by her mother Nebo Hamblen (Steven) of Dermott, AR, her step-father Terry Powell (Ginger) of Beaumont, TX, birth mother Santak Kanahele of Hawaii, brother Brian Robertson (Cheyenne) of Jonesboro, AR, and several other siblings in Hawaii.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00pm Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Arkansas City Baptist Church in Arkansas City with Rev. Jody Gannaway, Rev. Ken Roberts and Rev. Gene Gregory officiating.

Burial will follow at McGehee Cemetery.

Arrangements by Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service of McGehee, AR.

Killed in a head on wreck on Ar hwy 4 in Desha County.
