Edith the wife of Orvel Eugene "Gene" Brightwell. Edith Geneva (Overtuff) Brightwell the daughter of Henry Carroll Overtuff and Lula Bell Overtuff. Orvel Eugene "Gene" Brightwell the son of Benjamin Orvil "Ben O" Brightwell and Florence M (Norris) Beach Brightwell.

Gene Brightwell, age 88 of Black Rock, passed away Friday, March 6, 2015 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Walnut Ridge. He was born to Benjamin and Florence Norris Brightwell on June 24, 1926 in Imboden. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier for 37 years. He served in the Navy and Air Force during World War II and the Korean conflict. He was of the church of Christ belief.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and ten brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Geneva of Black Rock; one son, Ben C. Brightwell of Black Rock; and daughters, Nancy Day of Springfield, MO and Patty Dickson of Imboden; a twin sister, Imogene Hancock of Jonesboro; eleven grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 10, 2015 from 6-8 pm in Cox Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services are Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 2 pm at Hope Cemetery in Imboden with Lloyd Clark officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge.
