Vernon Leon Cash age 84 of Camden, AR formerly of Bearden, AR was born August 13, 1925 in Duncan, OK passed away March 12, 2010. He made his home in Bearden, AR and was a resident of Silver Oaks Nursing facility at the time of his death. Vernon accepted the Lord as his Savior in 2007. He served in the United States Army as a Corporal for Company E 350th Infantry and was honored and decorated as a sharpshooter, awarded a World War II Victory Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and one Bronze Service Star and served as Military Policeman in Specialty #677. Vernon was a retired truck driver and held many safe driving awards during his career. He also held a passion for horses and trail riding and was known for his kindness and witty sense of humor and will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and one sister. He is survived by his brothers, Loyd Cash of Oklahoma City, OK and Joe Cash of Duncan, OK; sisters, Lavada Greenroyd of Oklahoma City, OK, Mary Ann Britton of Wichita, KS and Leota Bearden of TX; and his friend, Gene Griffis and family of Bearden, AR.

Graveside service will be 3:00 p. m. Sunday at Salem Cemetery. Gary Griffis will officiate the service. Visitation will be Saturday 6:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. at the funeral home. Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
