Peggy Joyce Davis, 64, went to her heavenly home on September 28, 2017. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace. Peggy was born to the late Watson and Gladys Pennington in Holly Springs, Arkansas on April 30, 1953. Peggy was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church. She worked for Cabun Clinic for thirty-four years. She enjoyed spending her time camping, crafting, and most of all spending time with her family. She spent many years volunteering for the Bearden Gazebo Festival.
In addition to her parents, Peggy is preceded in death by one brother James Pennington. Peggy was blessed with a large and loving family in which she took much pride in. Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Russell Davis of Bearden, Arkansas; one son Race (Megan) Davis of Junction City, Arkansas; two daughters Gayle (Jason) Proctor of Holly Springs and Amber (Adam) Jones of Fordyce, Arkansas; one step-daughter, Shawanna Isreal of Camden, Arkansas; 11 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren. She is also survived by 4 brothers David (Peggy) Pennington, Bobby (Sherry) Pennington, Wayne (Dixie) Pennington, and Benny (Deborah) Pennington; 3 sisters Diane (Terry) Jackson, Pat (Gary) Burke, and Mary (Ronnie) Hogg; and a host of nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind many great friends that she made throughout the years.
The family will receive friends at Proctor Funeral Home Saturday September 30, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 pm. Funeral service will be held Sunday October 1st at 2:00 PM at Holly Springs Baptist Church, Brother David Dillard will officiate. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to OCMC Hospice and Holly Springs Baptist Church.
