October 9, 1950 - August 12, 1967
Herbert Allen Belt, 16, of Eagle Mills died at 12:20 Saturday at Ouachita Hospital of injuries suffered about 8:30 a.m. Friday in a logging accident in Freeo Creek bottom near Holly Springs. The youth was injured when his head was pinned between a tractor and a large log as he was attempting to hook the tractor's tongs to the log. The tractor which was being driven by his brother, Herman Belt of East Camden rolled backwards thus crushing his head. Belt was working with a crew employed by his father, Tom Belt who is owner of a saw mill. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Proctor Funeral Home of Camden. (Camden News - August 12, 1967)
