Jean Newbern Moss, 84, of McGehee died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004, at her home. She was born November 22, 1919, in Marianna to the late Thomas Hubbard Newbern Sr. and Evie Maie Bonner Newbern. She was a mother, a homemaker, a founding member of the Delta Country Club, a member of the Women's Hospital Auxiliary, a member of First Presbyterian Women's Organization and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of McGehee.

She is survived by four sons, Thomas R. Moss of Stuttgart, Steven G. Moss of North Little Rock, Swan B. Moss Jr. of Dermott, and James N. Moss Sr. of Hamburg; one daughter, Suzanne Moss of Little Rock; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Swan Burrus Moss.

Grave-side services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 3, at the McGehee cemetery with Rev. Ross Raymond officiating. Pallbearers were the grandchildren. Arrangements were by Griffin Funeral Service of McGehee.
