Floyd Carlton Higgs, 65, of Bearden, died Sunday at his home following a lengthy illness. He was born July 13, 1906. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Gladys Gammell Higgs; one daughter, Mrs. Nancy Rowland of Junction City; one brother, W. L. Higgs of Fayetteville; two sisters, Mrs. Montene Withrow of El Dorado, and Mrs. B. J. Hollis of Hobbs, NM; four grandchildren and one great grandchild. The body will be taken Monday afternoon to the home of a niece, Mrs. Shirley Young at Bearden, where it will remain until the funeral time on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Bearden Assembly of God Church. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, with Bailey of El Dorado in charge. (Camden News - November 29, 1971)
