Fred Powers

Mountain Home - A Graveside Service for Fred Henry Powers of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 2:00 pm, Sunday, February 11, 2018, at Lower Oakland Cemetery, with Reverend Darren Morris officiating.

Fred passed away February 3, 2018, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 87. He was born October 31, 1930, in Forrest City, Arkansas, the son of John and Mary Lindaeur Powers. He married Geneva "Jackie" Marlar on February 4, 1950, in Forrest City, Arkansas, and worked for Kent Chevrolet, R & E Paint and retired from Advanced Auto Body Shop at the age of 84. Fred lived in Mountain Home since moving from Forrest City, Arkansas, in 1970. He enjoyed gardening, loved to sing and play gospel music, and he loved his cockatiel- "Pharaoh". He was an outstanding father and grandfather.

Fred is survived by his daughter, Mary (Jim) Baker of Mountain Home, AR; two sons, Gary (Tina) Powers of Wynne, AR, and John Powers of Dallas, TX; six grandchildren, Mandi (Paul) Bellnap, Myranda Baker, Kevin (Andrea) Powers, Tasha (Calvin) Taylor, Patrick Powers, John Henry (Josie) Powers; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Memorials may be made to Lower Oakland Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
