Davelene CHILDERS, 57, of Bearden, died Saturday, Aug. 6, in Jena, La. Born
July 10, 1937, in Nevada County, she was the daughter of David Copeland and
Gertrude Rae Bustin Butcher. She was a homemaker and a Methodist. Survivors
include two sons Jerry York of Gastonia, N.C. and David Childers of Jena, La.;
her mother Gertrude Butcher of Camden; a brother Howard Copeland of Waldo; three
sisters Shirley Bailey of Rosston, Jo Ann Evans of Bryant and Barbara Walthall
of Bearden; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral was at 2 p.m.
today at Benton Chapel with the Revs. Jay Culpepper and H.A. Murrell
officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery at Bearden by Benton Funeral Home
of Fordyce.
