Marie Dean, 94 of Magnolia, Arkansas died Thursday, May 20, 2010 at the Magnolia Regional Medical Center in Magnolia.
She was born September 1, 1915 in Emerson, Arkansas to the late Eugene and Mattie Kirk (Weldon) Kirkpatrick. Marie was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Waldo, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred L. Dean; sons, Billy and Bobby Dean; son-in-law, Ernie Deaton; three sisters; and three brothers.
Survivors are her daughter, M. Susie Deaton of Russellville; daughter-in-law, Beverly Dean of Hot Springs; brother, Charles Kirkpatrick and wife Rae of Schriever, Louisiana; grandchildren, Ernie Deaton II of Rogers, Sharon Magness and husband Lloyd of Russellville, Kim Goss and husband Greg of Mena, Michael Dean and wife Sheila of Shreveport, Louisiana, Pam Neill and husband Gary of Keithville, Louisiana, Andy Dean and wife Holly of Pearcy; fourteen great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 23, 2010 at Lewis Chapel with Bro. David Watkins officiating. Burial will follow at Waldo Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. of Magnolia. Visitation will be Saturday afternoon from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Ernie Deaton, Lloyd Magness, Greg Goss, Michael Dean, Andy Dean, Jeff Deaton, Lee Deaton, and Gary Neill. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Matt Barnett, George Stewart, and Employees of Dudneywood Assisted Living.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
