Mrs. Catherine Ann Wyerick Kilgore, 53, of Maumelle, AR, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at her home after a 5 year courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born on November 11, 1957 in Pocahontas, AR. Cathy was raised and received her early education in Clover Bend, graduating from Hoxie High School in 1976. She received an associate degree in business at Black River Technical College in Pocahontas, and became an account representative for Brown & Williamson Company. She was a partner with her husband in the family business, Kilgore Saw Company, for the past 15 years. Cathy is preceded in death by her first husband, James Thomas Wyerick. Survivors include her loving husband Kyle Kilgore, her beloved children, Lindsey Wyerick of Little Rock, Patrick Wyerick of Little Rock, and Andrew Kilgore of Maumelle. Cathy is also survived by her parents, Warren and Mary Ann Graddy of Clover Bend. Cathy was the eldest of five children, and is survived by four siblings: Jean Terrell and Steve Graddy, both of Jonesboro; Linda Black and Mary Reid, both of Newport. Cathy will also be missed by her many nieces and nephews. Cathy was an outstanding wife and mother, and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with family and friends. Her best times were spent working in her gardens, boating at the lake, and antiquing with family and friends. She loved watching basketball especially when it was one of her children or even friends of the family playing. She was an avid reader and could be found many early mornings working a soduku puzzle over a cup of coffee. She was known for her incredible sense of love, compassion and understanding for others on the inside, and her beautiful red hair on the outside. She loved opening her home to family and friends for special occasions and holidays and took great pride in her children and always enjoyed helping anywhere she could at their schools. Cathy volunteered many hours to Our Lady of Good Counsel School in Little Rock, where she served as a school board member, and Immaculate Heart of Mary School in Marche. She was a member at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church but often liked to refer herself more as a part of their family and took great pride in and loved all of the people there who were always a source of love, strength and inspiration to her especially for these last several years. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 22 from 5:30-7:00 pm at the North Little Rock Funeral Home, followed immediately by a rosary. A funeral mass will be held Friday, September 23 at 10:30 am at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, with Father Thomas Hart, celebrant. Burial will follow immediately at Immaculate Heart of Mary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Immaculate Heart of Mary School. Arrangements by North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main, 758-1170.
