Norman Leigh Hall Sr., 70, of El Dorado, passed from this life on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock.
He was born on Oct. 24, 1943, in Malvern, to the late Willie Leigh "Bill" Hall and Norma Braswell Hall. Norman was a 20-year Army retiree, serving his country faithfully during the Vietnam War. Norman received numerous medals, including the Purple Heart, during his military career and retired as a sergeant first class. Norman was also a member of the VFW and the American Leigon. Norman was an avid hunter and fisherman and would always say he felt closer to God while he was in a boat on the water.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 35 years, Po il Hall. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of six years, Ruby Ford Hall of El Dorado; two children, Annette Gay and her husband, Glenn, of Benton, and Norman "Leigh" Hall Jr. and his wife, Carol, of Trinidad, Colo.; three stepchildren, Kevin Gathright of El Dorado, Jared Gathright and his wife, Brittney, of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Sheri Ware and her husband, Josh, of El Dorado; one sister, Charlene Trefry and her husband, Howard, of Marysville; two nephews, Craig Hall and his wife, Lisa, of Marysville, and Chris Trefry, also of Marysville; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandson; also, numerous other great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. today at Bailey Funeral Home in El Dorado.
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 15, at St. Mark United Methodist Church with Bro. Winston Roden and Bro. Tracy Roden officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Marysville Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado.
Pallbearers will be Craig Hall, Russell Hall, Chris Trefry, Kevin Gathright, Steven Braswell, Josh Ware, Josh Kinley and Michael Davis
