Ervin Adam Gillihan, son of the late Owen M. and Lillie Gullie Gillihan, was born January 31, 1924, in Twin Creek. He died August 4, 1999 at White River Medical Center in Batesville. He was 75. Mr. Gillihan served in the United States Army during World War II, attaining the rank of Private First Class. He was united in marriage to Delores Jones December 23, 1946, in Jumbo. To this union three sons were born.

Ervin Adam Gillihan, 75, died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 1999 in a Batesville Hospital. Born Jan. 31, 1924, at Twin Creek, AR, he was the son of the late Owen M. and Lilley Gulley Gillihan.
He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, attaining the rank of Private First Class. During his working years, he was employed by Reynolds Metal as a crane operator. After retirement, he enjoyed working in his woodworking shop and making gifts and puzzles for friends and family. He was an active member and deacon of Melbourne Church of Christ and was a member of the Aluminum Workers Union.
Survivors include his wife, Dolores Gillihan; three sons, Jim D. Gillihan of Vancouver, WA, Dan G. Gillihan and David E. Gillihan both of Longview, WA; two sisters, Hazel Thompson of Mtn. View, AR, and Maxine Vines of Eudora, KS; two brothers, Dallas Gillihan of Melbourne and Otho Ray Gillihan of Ocean Park, WA; six grandchildren, Aaron P. Gillihan, Kevin A. Gillihan, Kyle E. Gillihan, Seth K. Gillihan, Lynette Ritterodt and Cindy Ritterodt; four great grandchildren.
Other than his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Willard, Eulon, and Elmo Gillihan.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Sat. at the Roman and Billy Howard Memorial Chapel in Melbourne with Glen Green officiating.
Burial will be at Combs Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's family Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Roy Gillihan, Larry Gillihan, Chris Gillihan, Mark Gillihan, Michael Gillihan and Keith Gillihan.
Honorary pallbearers will be Orville Thompson, Dallas Gillihan, Otho Ray Gillihan and LeRoy Thompson.
