Leoma Beard 84, of McGehee passed away Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Southern Heritage Nursing Home in McGehee.
She operated a daycare at her home in McGehee for over 40 years. She loved to travel and was a member of First Baptist Church of McGehee.
Mrs. Beard was born in McGehee on February 16, 1929 to the late Sam Sr. and Lula Pearl Carpenter Sloan.
Other than her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Billy Joe Beard Sr. and two sisters; Marzell Graves and Eloise "Dimple" Dixon Lawson.
She is survived by her son Billy Beard (Laverne) of McGehee, AR, a brother Sam Sloan Jr. (Betty) of White Hall, AR, nephew Chuck Sloan of White Hall, AR, two grandchildren; Brandon Beard and Leigh Ann Franks, and one great grandchild Tyler Stallings.
Public viewing will be 1 to 5pm Friday and 11am to 1pm Saturday. Graveside service will be 2pm Saturday, August 3, 2013 at McGehee Cemetery with Rev. Rick Miller officiating.
