Mercer Embree "Flea" Bayliss, 85, of Warren, died Friday at Bradley County Medical Center. He was born Feb. 21, 1919, at Warren, a son of the late Fred E. Bayliss Sr. and Florence Dixon Bayliss. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a retired conductor for the Missouri-Pacific Railroad Co. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Warren. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Ann Banister Bayliss, whom he married May 5, 1941, at McGehee; four daughters, Cholista Price of Cabot, Babs Hardwick of Brinkley, Joy Moseley of Dermott and Kim Echlin of Star City; one brother, Garland Bayliss of College Station, Texas; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Griffin Chapel at McGehee. Burial will be at McGehee Cemetery by Frazer's Funeral Home of Warren. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
