Olivia Warfield Arnold, 89 of Monticello and formerly of Lake Village passed away on October 9, 2015 to join her late husband Forrest E. (Sonny) Arnold, Jr. and her beloved son, Forrest E. (Buddy) Arnold, III who preceded her in death.


Forrest "Sonny" Arnold, Jr., age 89 passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014 at his home in Monticello with family present. He was born July 14, 1924 in McGehee, AR to the late Forrest E. Arnold, Sr. and Lela Miles Arnold.

He eventually settled and retired in Lake Village, AR with his wife and children where he owned a mechanic, radiator and body shop. Mr. Arnold was a member of The Knight of Columbus, was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II where he served from 1942-1945 and was a long time member of the Lake Village Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, beloved father and grandfather who would always take the time to teach his children how to enjoy and appreciate nature.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Forrest E. (Buddy) Arnold, III formerly of Monroe, La.

Survivors include his wife, Olivia Warfield Arnold who resides in Monticello; two daughters, Olivia Bradley of Pensacola, FL, Lela Arnold-Wilson of Monticello; two sons, David W. Arnold of Monticello and Neal Montgomery (Bo) Arnold of Lake Village; ten grandchildren, Elizabeth Thirion of Rockwall, TX, Elaina Bradley, Dr. Kevin Bradley of Pensacola, FL, Scott Arnold of Monroe, LA, Andrew Arnold of Pensacola, FL, Stephanie Smith of Alexander City, AL, Christopher David Arnold and Jeff Arnold both of San Antonio, TX, Tommy Ashley of Monticello, and Jett Ashley of Flower Mound, TX: and nineteen great-grandchildren and a cousin, Frances Kelly of Oxford, MS.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 25 at First Baptist Church, 413 North Main, Monticello, AR with Rev. Bruce Venable officiating. Burial with military honors will be in McGehee Cemetery in McGehee, AR.

Olivia, better known as Sis, was raised in Readland, AR on the Warfield Plantation by Grand Lake.

Her parents were Judge Carneal Warfield of Lake Village and Clara Mae Warfield. She married Sonny on November 29, 1942 before he left for service in WWII. They settled with their children in Lake Village, AR in 1957.

Olivia raised all her children in Lake Village and held several meaningful jobs such as County Treasurer, secretary for Lake Village Baptist church, secretary for Lakeside High School, but fulfilled her goal of attending college by graduating at UAM in Monticello with a BS in teaching. She taught at Lakeside High ten years before retiring.

She loved reading, history, and painting, and was a member of the hospital auxiliary in Lake Village. She and her family attended Lake Village Baptist Church for many years.

Olivia, Sis, is cherished and survived by her children, Olivia Bradley of Rockwall, TX, David W. Arnold of Monticello, Lela Arnold-Wilson of Monticello, and Neal Montgomery Arnold of Lake Village; her grandchildren Elizabeth Thirion of Rockwall, TX, Dr. Kevin Bradly of Pensacola, FL, Elaina Bradley of Rockwall TX, Scott Arnold of Monroe, LA, Andrew Arnold of Pensacola, FL, Stephanie Smith of Alexander City, AL, Christopher David Arnold and Jeff Arnold both of San Antonio, TX, Tommy Ashley of Monticello, and Jett Ashley of Flower Mound, TX, and twenty great grandchildren.

A private family graveside service will be held at the McGehee Cemetery in McGehee, AR to place this loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend beside her husband of 72 years.

Any memorials may be made to Lake Village Baptist Church, 301 N. Lakeshore Dr. Lake Village, AR.
