McGEHEE--Fannie Ethel Allen, 82, of McGehee, died May 6, 1998, at the
McGehee-Desha County Hospital.
Born September 1, 1915, at Slayden, Tennessee, she was a daughter
of Ross Picken Shelton and Mattie McNabb.
She was a homemaker and was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Allen.
Survivors include three daughters, Rebecca Adams of Grenada,
Mississippi, Joan Beegle of Lake Village and Barbara Wargo of Watson; a
sister, Mattie Hunt of Mansfield, Louisiana; six grandchildren; and three
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m. at Griffin Funeral
Chapel of McGehee with the Rev. John Mann officiating. Burial will be
at the McGehee Cemetery.
