Claude Ronald "Ronnie" Grider, age 73, of Tillar, Arkansas passed away February 14, 2014 in Dumas, Arkansas. Ronnie, as he was called, was born on August 24, 1940.
Ronnie was a retired farmer, having worked over 30 years for the R. A. Pickens & Son Company, then later was a salesman and driver for Tillar Hardware and L. P. Gas Company for 25 years.
Ronnie was a faithful member of Abundant Life Worship Center in Dumas. He enjoyed gospel singing and good preaching.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents Claude Harris Grider (1908-1985) and Kathleen Shockley Grider (1912-1991) and one son, Ronald Clark Grider (1961-1974).
Survived by his wife and loving caregiver, Johnnie Grider of Tillar; one son, Michael Douglas Grider of Florida; two daughters, Julie Mari Beck of El Dorado, Arkansas and Stephanie Ann LaCroix of Mayflower, Arkansas; two sisters, Nola Jean Larrison of Lake Village, Arkansas and Judy Aileen Harrison of Arkadelphia, Arkansas; one brother, Travis MacArthur Grider of Waxahachie, Texas; and two grandchildren, Luke Ronald LaCroix and Aaron Hugh LaCroix who loved their "EPAW" very much.
His going home service was conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, February 17, 2014 at Abundant Life Worship Center with Reverend Spencer Berry officiating the packed house celebration of the life and legacy of Ronnie Grider.
Beautiful songs was sung during the moving service in tribute to this good man. "I'll stroll all over Heaven with you", "The Anchor Holds", "Daddy's Hands", "Go rest high on that mountain" was a few of the renditions that moved many to tears.
A fine video of tribute showed this family man in his younger years through his later years struggling with every breath but was strong till the very end of this mortal life. He is free now.
Claude Ronald "Ronnie" Grider was laid to rest at the "Jefferson Cemetery" near Winchester, Arkansas.
Arrangements are by Griffin Funeral Home of Dumas, Arkansas.
