Danny R. Cooper, age 68, of Pine Bluff, died Friday, April 20, 2012, at his residence. Mr. Cooper was born July 28, 1943, in Havana, Arkansas, a son of the late Clarence Edward and Mary Elsie French Cooper.
Mr. Cooper was reared and educated at Watson, Arkansas. He moved to Pine Bluff in 1963 and began working at International Paper Company (now Evergreen Packaging), in 1975 in the Maintenance Department, retiring after thirty years of service.
He was a member of Watson Chapel Baptist Church and the Magnolia Tree Hunting Club. He loved hunting and spending time with his family, especially the grandkids, and friends.
He was preceded in death in 2004, by his first wife, Janet Sue Price Cooper, whom he married June 5, 1964; two brothers, Jimmy Cooper of McGehee and Billy Cooper of Greenville, Mississippi; two sisters, Virginia "Missy" Hendrix of McGehee and Pamela Cooper of Havana.
Mr. Cooper is survived by his second wife, Becky Ann Miller Cooper, whom he married October 13, 2007, in War Eagle, Arkansas; daughter, Dana McClendon of Maumelle, two step daughters and sons-in-law, Meredith and Jeremy Miller of Huntsville, Rachel and Josh Davis of Goddard, Kansas; granddaughter, Hannah McClendon of Maumelle; step grandson, Brock Miller of Huntsville; step granddaughter, Ashton Miller of Huntsville; father-in-law, Charles E. Miller of Pine Bluff; two brothers, Don Cooper and wife Audrey, of Sheridan and Paul Cooper of London; sisters, Diane Nichols and husband, Rayford, of Crossett, Sue Broyles of McGehee and Earline Hunsaker and husband Oscar, of Star City.
Funeral services will be Monday, April 23, 2012, at 10:30 AM at Watson Chapel Baptist Church by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors with Reverend Todd Howard and Reverend Dean Dancer officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Cemetery at Winchester, Arkansas at 2:30 PM.
The family will receive friends at Robinson's Sunday afternoon from 2 to 4 PM.
