Gracie Lee Legacy, formerly of Marianna passed away in Crossett, Arkansas on March 3, 2007. She was 78 years old.

Gracie was born in Lee County on August 22, 1928 to Joe and Katie Cupp Lafex.

Gracie was a wife and mother, and for some years, she owned and operated a restaurant in Marianna. She loved to fish whenever she could, and she also enjoyed playing poker and bingo at the local VFW. Her family reports that she played twice a week most weeks, and her friends say that most of the time she won.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Katie Lafex; her husband, Harley Legacy, Sr.; one son, Harley Legacy, Jr.; and two brothers, Joe and Herbert Lafex.

Loved ones left to mourn her passing include: one son, Joe Edward Legacy and wife Sue of Crossett, AR; one sister, Maxine Willis of West Helena, AR; one sister-in-law, Eola Lafex of Marianna, AR; one granddaughter , Karen Henley and husband Brian of Hughes, AR; two great-grandchildren, Amanda and Joey Henley; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.

Services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. at Roller-Citizens Chapel in Marianna, with burial to follow at Marianna Memorial Park. Visitation is from 6:00 to 8:00 Monday evening.
