Dennis Horace Keown, of Marianna, passed away Tuesday, November 13 in Little Rock, Arkansas, at the age of 84 years.
He was born on October 6, 1923 to Thomas Henry Keown and Effie Mae Scott Keown in Mount Ida, Arkansas.
Dennis was a veteran of World War II who fought with the 101st at the Battle of the Bulge, and he was a fifty-year member of the American Legion.
He married Maxine Swan in 1946, and together they had three children.
Dennis was a farmer who loved the land and the country life.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine, of the home in Marianna; one daughter, Brenda Cheney and husband Kent, of Grapevine, AR; sons John Wayne Keown and wife Diann of Marianna; and Dale Keown and wife Sharon of North Little Rock, AR; fifteen grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; other relatives and many friends.
Preceding him in death were parents Thomas Henry and Effie Mae Keown, two brothers, and 4 sisters.
Services will be Saturday, November 17, at 2:00 p.m. at Moro Pentecostal Church, with burial following at Marianna Memorial Park.
