FAYETTEVILLE — Edward E. Papizan, 85, of Fayetteville died Feb. 10, 2009. He was born March 29, 1923, in Crystal Springs, Miss., to Mary Harper and Joseph Papizan.

He was employed by American Cyanamid's agricultural division for 37 years, retiring in 1989. He was presented the company's Golden Oval Award for outstanding sales achievement in 1979 and 1982. He was a graduate of the University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette. He served in the Coast Guard from 1943-1945. He was a member of University Baptist Church, and was a deacon and Sunday school teacher.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lynne Vorsanger.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Mildred McBroom Papizan; three daughters, Pamela Garrison and husband Wayne, Connie Lewis and husband Clark, and Susin Dolan and husband Robert and eight grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville, online at www.nelsonberna.com.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Private burial will follow in Fairview Memorial Guldens. The Rev. H.D. McCarty will officiate.

FAYETTEVILLE — Mildred McBroom Papizan, 85, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, went to be with her Lord on January 21st, 2015. She was the daughter of Clarence and Kathleen (Odom) McBroom, born in Woodbury, Tennessee on October 21st, 1929. Mildred was employed in Nashville, Tennessee, where she met and later married Edward Earl Papizan. They wed on June 6th, 1953.

She was a homemaker, and mother to four daughters: Pam, Lynne, Connie, and Susan.

When Mildred wasn't busy with family and friends, her time was devoted to University Baptist Church, where she volunteered in the nursery for over 40 years. Mildred and her family moved to Fayetteville, Arkansas in 1966, and lived in the same house for nearly 50 years. Their neighbors were a source of great friendship and support.

Mildred is survived by daughters Pamela Garrison, Connie Lewis, Susan Dolan and their respective husbands, Wayne Garrison, Clark Lewis, and Robert Dolan; one nephew, Ralph Papizan Lemoine; eight grandchildren, Alexandra Garrison, Michael Vorsanger, Todd Vorsanger, Drew Dolan and his wife Leslie Dolan, Tyler Dolan, Alex Dolan, Mary Scroggins and her husband Joseph Scroggins, and Sarah Lewis; four great-grandchildren, Jaylee Lewis, Kohner Scroggins, Landon Scroggins, and Hannah Dolan. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ed Papizan, and her daughter, Lynne Vorsanger.

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 23rd from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 24th at 1 p.m. at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home. A private burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens, officiated by Clark Lewis.
