FAYETTEVILLE - John Scott Huddleston, a Fayetteville native, passed away peacefully at the Willard Walker Hospice House on Saturday, Aug. 30. He was known as Scott by all of his friends and was born March 12, 1963, the son of John and Nancy Chamblee Huddleston, he was 51 years old.

Scott attended Washington Elementary, Woodland Jr. High and Fayetteville High School where he was a member of the FHS band percussion section. He then went on to earn a bachelors degree in Finance and Business Management from the University of Arkansas. Scott was employed by the City of Fayetteville for 23 years, holding the position of Information Technology Director for most of these years. He had a great love for football, especially the Arkansas Razorbacks and Indianapolis Colts, as well as an avid supporter of local live music. He also had a great love for German Shepherd dogs and enjoyed training them for obedience and agility matches. Scott also had a passion for flying and worked in the aviation industry in his younger years before joining the City of Fayetteville team. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church and enjoyed serving as an usher at the 11 a.m. Classic Service.

Scott is survived by his parents, brother Joe Cohea and his wife Judy, and sister Cindy Gleason and her husband Derek, as well as a host of friends and extended family. Visitation with the family is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 3, at Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville from 5 p.m.-7 p.m., the funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 4, at Central United Methodist Church followed by a graveside service at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville.
